Launch Image appears black in TestFlight

We are testing our Single Issue app via the iTunes Testflight app program before we submit to Apple.

Everything seems to run correctly, however, the "Launch Image" does not display properly when opening the app. It appears as a black screen with a sliver of the image along the menu bar.

We have all the launch screens built to spec, uploaded and approved on the publish portal, so there are no errors that we can find with the image(s).

Why are they not displaying properly upon launch? This issue did not occur on the previous single-edition app we created with Mag Plus.

Hello Charles,

Around the time of the iOS 9 release (or so), Apple changed some design and app launch guidelines that removed the need for launch images. What is used now is called 'Storyboard Launch Screen'. With this new feature, there are two different launch screens, one for iPad and one for iPhone. This feature simply pulls the colors you are already using from the 'Customizations' settings in your Mag+ Designd Publish portal and will support all the different color formats that can be entered there. So basically what shows now is a gradient screen of subtle colors (depending on what you chose) as opposed to a customized launch image.

You can take a look at iOS - How to Customize Your App's Look and Feel under the 'Storyboard Launch Screen' section for more on this.

So I was reading your response Griffin. Maybe it is a good idea to remove from Publish those fields or at least commenting that the fields are no longer required when customizing the look and feel of your app. We customized these fields awhile ago with a graphic listing our social media pages which turns out to be a waste of time.

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback, Ron.

We'll follow-up with our development team in regards to removing them, if possible.
