Can not create MIB (red vertical problem)

First off, I am new here. So hi :)

I have made a digital magazine with Mag+ for a school project. I’ve lined up all the verticals using the production tool. Every vertical has got an MIB of 6.00.

Problem is: the production tool has got issues with 2 verticals which receive the color red because of an MIB which seems to be too high, while the InDesign document displays the verticals as 6.00. While 6.00 should work fine as an MIB, it just keeps giving me the ‘red vertical problem’.

My question is: why do these verticals show up with the color red? Because of this issue I can not click the ‘ Create MIB’ option in the production tool and I can’t export my finished magazine.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Griffin,

I've tried the solution but it did not work either.

I rechecked every vertical for missing links & missing fronts and every other possible error I could think of. I exported everything once more and downloaded the newest production tool. After this it seemed to work, so it is fixed now! Thanks for your time.

Hello Koen,

Can you please clarify which MIB version those two verticals are defaulting to once exported to the Production Tool?

Hi Griffin, thank you for your response! The production tool gives verticals of 6.20, while my indesign states 6.00.

Thanks for confirming, Koen. It's related to having a slideshow on your vertical and the changes that we made in the 6.2 Plugin for new features such as the ability to add colors to slideshow indicators as well as other behind-the-scenes changes to the slideshow feature. Because of this, the tools are automatically changing the version by default because there are slideshows present and it needs to be 6.2 in order to work properly with these blocks.

At this point, you can either remove the slideshows altogether for those affected verticals and re-export to 6.0 (to match the others) or raise the MIB version for the other verticals to 6.2 so they match and are all the same within the Production Tool which should then allow you to create a MIB afterwards.

Hope that helps.

Hi Griffin, thank you very much for the detailed explanation.

I've tried every solution, but it still does not seem to work.

If I up all MIB versions to 6.20 they all become red. If i remove the slideshow from the vertical and I try to export it then it still shows red in the production tool and it resets it automatically to MIB 6.10 again.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Koen,

Within the Production Tool under 'Issue Settings' on the right-hand side, is your 'MIB version' there also set to '6.20'? If not, try that and let us know if that works.
