Activate two or more popups with one button

Hello,

We're doing new issue for our magazine, and I'm wondering is it possible to have two or more popups activated with one button tap?

It's great that now we can add scrolling objects as Popup, but I also need some elements to appear with my scrollable content.

Thank you!

Try linking the one hotspot to two objects with identical Object IDs. I haven't tried it but it may work. Good luck!

I thought you would have. Good luck on the effort. I'm following the thread so if you or someone else discovers a savvy solution, I'll hear about it. I publish HangarSphere, which magazine are you?

Hello Anton, Lars,

There is a bit of a "hack" way to have 2 or more Popups display from 1 hotspot but it requires some chaining of the "In View" and "Out of View" hotspot triggers. Unfortunately getting this to work isn't perfect and it won't work with features like panning or zoom so I'm afraid the solution may not help you here.

But have a look at the example files from the link below and see if it helps you at all with something you might incorporate into your design.

If you're using some html tool - I'm using Tumult Hype - you can create button (or just invisible box hanging over button drawn in InDesign) which you can tap to go to any URL. If you attach two or more URLs: popup://popup1, popup://popup2... (it is possible to attach more than just one action to one object in Hype) you should activate more popups the same time or with delay (when you associate it with timeline). I didn't test it yet, but since mag+ made it possible to run mag+ commands (as URLs) from html objects it's 99% chance to make multi-popups launching work also.

Well, actually somehow I figured out how to do popup group with scrollable content, thanks to Mike for sharing this "in view" trick.

It has minor glitch - sometimes additional elements (not scrollable content) dissappears. But mostly it's ok.
