allow full html swiping in android

Please consider allowing full use of html swiping in android, I know you are reserving the 100 or so pixels so people don't get stuck on the page, but I hope you can add a checkbox in the plugin to override this limitation, so we can decide if we can disable if we need to.

I want to create a full container with pinch and zoom, but this dead zone is preventing from accomplishing this , as you can't stretch the container to accommodate both portrait and landscape view, basically you are unable do perform the following on Android and support swipe events as you could on the iPad:

thanks

Hi Curtis -

That isn't a function of Mag+ reserving space for swiping - it's a function of how the Android in-app browser works and not something we can change.

Hi Curtis -

You're right, I'm wrong. I misunderstood my developers and they've set me right - thanks for pushing back and forcing me to find the right answer and sorry for saying the wrong thing.

We're going to make that change in Android for the new codebase (coming this fall) and the current one if we can do so easily, so you'll be able to make fullscreen HTML windows on Android. The key of course is to make sure you either put an empty box over the HTML element somewhere to give the users Mag+ controls back, or use some other mechanism to let them swipe the page, as the HTML will override. We'll ping you as soon as the fix is made.

could you ping me as well when a solution for this issue is available?

Also you were talking about "some other mechanism" could you please elaborate on that.

I was trying to put empty blocks as you suggested but this also doesn't work.

Also tried blocking the swipe option on the html code but this didn't work as well...

Thanks

Hey Michael -

In the current 5.0 version of the app, you should be able to place empty blocks over the HTML element to give users places to swipe. Just make sure that they are on the same content layer as the HTML and that they are empty boxes with object type-block. If that's what you're doing and it's not working, send on your files and we'll take a look.

Hey Mike, this still doesn't appear to be working. Would be happy to send over some test files. Where should I direct them?

Thanks.

Ok I've done a quick workaround the problem until you officially solve this problem;

I used Hammer.js to assign the $next & $previous jump links to swiping left & right from within the HTML. Thus emulating what the App should have done naturally.

I'm attaching a zip file with all the stuff needed.

The script is really basic and could be improved to catch up & down using anchored jump links.

But this is what I needed for now....

I hope this will help others as well.
