Text scrolling in popup

I'm trying to make a popup containing a scrolling text over a semi transparent background over a photo, but when group together to make a block disables the scroll feature.

Hi -

Right - panning only works on an image inside of a frame that is larger than the frame itself. Once you group objects, the system sees that group as an object now, with its own settings, and groups can't have pan or zoom. Instead, try turning all the objects you want to pan into a single image then place that in a frame and turn on pan.

Thanks Mike, but that way does not solve my problem, which is to open a popup and scroll text over an fixed image (both in the same popup). I wonder if one hotspot can call two popups at the same time, that way one will contain the images and backgrounds and the other with the scrollable text above it.

No, one link cannot call two popups. The only other way I can think of that it might work is to place the image you want in the popup box, then use scrolling text HTML trick (http://support.magplus.com/entries/20867562-Tips-Tricks-Scrolling-Text-in-Box) and place the HTML file in the popup box (use the file button next to the URL setting in the Popup window. If there is transparency in the PNG called by the HTML, it will show the image behind it. I'm just not sure if it will still pan over the top - you may have to mess with the HTML a little bit.
