Android Test Issue - 'License Check Failed'

Hi, I'm trying to test my Single Issue app on an Android device and am installing it from Dropbox. It installs ok but when launched the Help file appears and then the app closes and a message appears saying "License Check Failed, Contact Developer". Any idea why this is happening?

Hello Jason,

To configure your tablet to allow installation of .apk files outside the Google Android Market, launch the “Settings” application and choose Applications. Then make sure 'Unknown Sources' is checked.

Hello Mike, we have the same problem to test the Android app. "Unknown sources" is checked but "License Check Failed, Contact Developer" persists

Hello Javier,

Have you tried emailing yourself the the .apk and installing it that way rather than a download link?  What type of device are you trying to install to?

Hi Mike,

Yes, I tried it through Google Drive and sending an email to myself and the same result.

The device is a Motorola Moto G with the last Android version. In Mag+ reviewer there isn't any problem.

Thanks

Javier.

Have you checked your supported devices list in your Google Play Developer Console to see if the Motorola Moto G is supported?

Thanks for confirming.  It looks like you generated a Single Issue App last with your 'Oeste de Francia smartphone' brand, is that the brand you are having trouble with and it is only the Single Issue App version that will not load?  Have you tested it as a Multi-Issue App with a 1280x720 Android Smartphone Issue MIB uploaded?

Yes it is that brand. I tried before with "no-billing" option and uploading a MIB in the issue tab with the Android phone resolution and that work it but the "single issue" option not. Is it necessary an android MIB inside the Issue pannel to make it work? or is not necessary and only need the MIB when you upload the APK file in Google Developer panel as expansion file?

Thanks

Hello Javier,

You do not want to have your Android Smartphone MIB uploaded to your issue on your Mag+ Publish site when you generate the Single Issue App Android build.  You will upload the MIB separately as an expansion file to your Google Play Developer site to go along with your .apk file you build from the Mag+ Publish site.

Hello Mike,

We just launch our "single issue app" in Android. The problem was because to test the app, we have to publish the app in adroid developer panel. If is not 'publish' you cant test it and the "License check failed" message still appears.

Best regards.

Javier,

Have you gotten this worked out at this point then?  If you do want to test your app content directly from Mag+ Publish without having to the publish the app in Google Play, you can upload your Android MIB to a separate test issue which you wouldn't need to publish.  Then in your Android build settings, change it to "no in-app billing", generate a build and load the app to your device.  Then you would input the Device ID, found in the About section of your app in the Device's tab on your Mag+ Publish Portal as this will allow you to see/test unpublished issues.  This build will display your app as if it was a Multi-Issue app but you will at least be able to test your issue in the app itself.

Then when you are ready to submit the app, change the build setting back to Single Issue App, regenerate another apk and submit it to Google Play.
