App update - single-issue

Hi, Is it possible to make an update on a single-issue-app after it is published at the store? It would be nice to have the opportunity to fix a bug or a mistake later and publish an updates version. Is there a way for this? Thanks.

Hello Aron,

Yes, you can update your Single Issue App by following the same instructions for updating any type of Mag+ app.  Just remember that, per our recommendation, you'll want to get your update submitted before January 29 to avoid Apple's February 1 cutoff date for Mag+ 4.4 apps, that way your app will remain available on iOS5.1.1 and later.  See our announcement on this below:

If you currently have a live Mag+ app but you have not submitted an update since Nov 19, 2013, we strongly recommend you build and submit an app update prior to January 29, 2014. This will take your app to v4.4, the last Mag+ version that will run on iOS5.1.1 and later. After Feb 1, Apple will not accept a Mag+ 4.4 or earlier app build. (If you have submitted a 4.4 app prior to Feb 1, but it has not been approved by Feb 1, Apple will still approve it. You just can’t submit a 4.4 app after Feb 1.) There are critical bug fixes in v4.4, so building and submitting an update now will ensure that all your non-iOS7 customers have the latest code version.

Here is a tutorial on updating your iOS app.

Hello Mike,

thanks for your comment. The app is still in production and will be published in February or March. I just wanted to know, that there will be the chance to update the single app even when it´s already published at the store.

Aron,

Yes you will be able to update your Single Issue App but after February 1st, Apple will only accept apps for iOS7 which means your app, if submitted after that date, will not be available on iOS 5 or 6 and must be built with our 5.0 tools.

Hi Mike.. Does the fact of resubmitting a corrected MIB delay the Apple aproval timing. This could be crucial in a situation such as ours when the App had to be launched for a presd conference on a specific date and time

Nazim,

If your app is in review with Apple we typically don't recommend modifying your issues in the case that Apple attempts to download your issue(s) and they find something wrong, they will likely reject your app.  However, if you are simply replacing a MIB file on your Mag+ Publish site, this process does not take very long and if you just recently submitted your app to Apple, you might be ok.  So as I mentioned, the window of Apple reviewing your app while you are overwriting your MIB is small, this would be the only reason for a potential delay.

Very clear. Thank you. In the mean time we are trying to resolve a major issue with Jenny regarding no popups working at all.

Hello,

we have published a single issue app two years ago. Now we would like to update it. This should be possible with our Mag+ Publish account, is this correct? Do we have to buy a new license, or ist the update included in the one-time fee?

Thanks!
