Urgent!! Reviewer displaying low res verticals since 4.2 upgrade

Ever since upgrading to 4.2, fast review, full review and verticals reviewed directly from the production tool are displaying at a low resolution with fuzzy type and pictures. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a known issue here and when will it be fixed? I am working in Indesign CS5

I have to show my work to the client tomorrow morning so starting to panic!

Hi Andy,

Is it possible for you to send us a MIB to test on?

Anders

Thanks Anders -

Yes here is a work in progress mob. I have looked at the vertical pngs that mag+ generates and all seems to be in order resolution-wise with two versions for the universal mib. However on both iPad and Retina displays the resolution is fuzzy. I have attached a screen shot if that helps.

However I have noticed that if i switch 'Universal Ipad Mib' to off in the settings palette, then the pages review correctly on  my Retina iPad. I haven't checked on earlier iPad.

But obviously, I need a universal mib.

thanks for your help!

I'm having a similar issue.

  • All my linked images are sharp and the appropriate resolution
  • 'Universal Ipad MIB' is turned off
  • I'm working with the Retina template and exporting to retina & regular iPads. The vertical is low res in both instances

Any idea what the problem is?

Never got an answer to this.... had to muddle through as the job was urgent. I have a feeling that i was getting the whole universal mib thing wrong tho and had been from the beginning.

Is there a clearly structured manual that covers ALL aspects of working with mag+ that is regularly updated to reflect the each version? I find it very tedious picking through the various videos, comments and instructions in the help area. I'm just about to start a new project using mag+ and there have been a few major updates I think, so it would be great if there was a clear user friendly walk through to refresh my memory and make me aware of what's changed.

Actually I haven't looked in the help area for a while ....

Same problem here with the Retina... low rez images when exporting the MIB, high rez when doing the fast preview!

Hello Mathieu,

Do you have any downscaling settings applied in your Mag+ Plugin Settings tab?

Yes, that did it! Thank you for your quick reply! I thought we could leave that option since the settings was on Retina already. Thank you!

Chad and Andy,

Very sorry for the lack of replies, this post seemed to have gotten lost.

@Chad, does adjusting your downscaling settings in the Plugin help?  Let me know if you're still having trouble.
