Audio Files in Playlist Plays whenever going reader clicks on video link

Thank you again for everything that you do and the great tools and services you provide. Just released our book, the Press Bible  and it has been well received!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/the-press-bible/id657005874?mt=8&uo=4

We have an audio narration that plays at the beginning of each chapter. Also, throughout the chapter, we have links to external videos, which plays in the internal browser.

The Problem is that the audio in the playlist still continues to play inside the internal browser, which interferes with the video experience. So readers have to exit the internal browser, stop the audio, then click the video again.

Is there a way this can be changed?

Thank you for looking into this.

Hi Maison,

Sorry for the late feedback. If you generate a new build in Publish and test the AdHoc, does the problem persist. It should be fixed. Please let us know if the problem is still there.

Anders

Hey Anders,

Thanks for getting back so quick. I generated a new build and tested the build on a test device. The Playlist still continues to play in the internal browser.

Thank you again for taking the time to get this worked out.

Was this ever corrected in development? We're experiencing it in our magazine as well.

Hello Maison,

Very sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this issue.  Since the Playlist feature was intended to play continuously throughout an issue, the way it is working with your app is actually by design.  If you want to have audio elements stop playing when you launch the video window, you'll want to keep them separate from playlist elements.  Make sense?

Hey Mike, thanks for responding.

I think. So the elements in the playlist can't be shut off by the internal browser.

I'd hate to lose the some of the benefits of a playlist like fast-forward, rewind and so forth.

Any way to achieve this without the playlist feature?

Seriously thanks for all your help!

Maison.

At the moment, outside of the Playlist feature there are not controls for audio to rewind or fast-forward but you could create two instances of the audio to give users the option to play from the vertical or to add the audio file to the playlist.

If you'd like to make a feature request for including controls with the vertical audio buttons or for audio to pause from the playlist when launching the web browser we always welcome and encourage you to share your ideas with us so we can ensure our product fits your needs. I encourage you to add this request to our "Feature Request" forum, where other users can add their vote. You can do that here:

This forum is monitored regularly and every request is taken into consideration for future releases.
