Forms

Is it possible to create a form using the indesign CS6 Plugin or using HTML coding and have that connect to an email adress. Say I wanted to create a booking form for IT equipment? Is this possible?

Thank you

Hi Scott,

Yes, this is possible. Basically all HTML that works in the Safari browser on the iPad will work inside the app. So if you embed the from as an html object people will be able to edit it there.

hello

I have just started testing to see if I can embed an html form (that people can fill in) into the mag+ format. The html appears and displays correctly, but isn't active (can't type into the form fields). Do you know what the problem might be?

thanks

This could be the problem: If a layer is active above the layer with the html, the interactivity of the html will not work. For instance, if the html is on the B layer, make sure you disable the A layer in the Mag+ vertical box.

Hope this wil help.

hello Maarten

thanks for your speedy response. there is only a b layer in this document.

could the problem be something to do with the html frl itself? (was a test, so doesn't link to a css file or to a database of any kind for submission).

But did you disable the A layer? Not in the layers dialogue box, but in the mag+ verticals box. (see screendump)

so does that mean I can't pt a form on a page with an a layer? or just that I have to either put the form on the a layer or double-click the a layer to access it?

Yes.

I would avoid using the A layer when using a form. Or you would have to put the form on the A layer.

Just make sure there is no active layer above the layer with the form.
