Compact verticals dont work on test app

Hello we send our unpublished mib to our test app and everything works great except 1 thing. when we send the MIB from production to the reviewer app then compact verticals work fine.

The same MIB is uploaded to publish and when we send it to our test app it doesnt make compact verticals.

How do we fix this?

Hi,

This setting is made in the Production tool, if you set the orientation to "Portrait" and you will be able to select "Compact verticals".

Best regards,

We have put everything on, and done it correctly. But the test app still doesnt show this. The same MIB works fine in the reviewer app, but fails to do compact verticals in the test app.

Hi,

At the moment there is a problem concerning the compact verticals setting unfortunately. We are working on solving this, we are very sorry for your trouble.

Hi Anders, I'm working on a brochure that's completely dual orientation and in the production tool I can't select compact verticals which I'm finding out is supposed to be automatic on dual orientation. When I view the test on reviewer the horizontals do not show the white space between verticals but I can see the white spaces between the vertical views. Any solution to this? I have updated the production tool to 4.1.

Thanks! Dean

@Dean

Dean im not sure, but i tought compact verticals were only useable for orientations which are locked. Because if you use dual orientation you ALWAYS have 2048x2048 verticals.

Compact verticals is for people who lock it at portrait for example and want no big chunks of space between their verticals so it slices the sides away and paste it together as one big showreel making the verticals 1536x2048.

Not sure if im correct but i cannot imagine compact verticals to have use for dual orientation.

Yes, compact verticals only work on locked or non dual. On dual they're it's supposed to be automatic. But I'm still seeing the chunks of space. I just figured out how to submit a question so just did that. Sorry for bringing this up here. Was the only one open that came close to my issue. Thanks, Dean

No probs, whenever i make a dual orrientation i have never seen chunks of space between them. (if i make it fully 2048x2048 px for every page). So i cannot help you on that unfortunately, GL getting your answer!

That's what I was hoping for. On dual orientation the "compact verticals" is greyed out in production tool. So I figured it would be automatic but it's only working on horizontal orientation. Vertical orientation still gives me the chunks of space. Oh well, will see how it goes. Thanks and hope you resolve your vertical issue. Best regards, Dean

Hello Anders,

Is there a timeframe, or workaround, for you to solve this issue. We have uploaded our APP to the Apple Store, and we will suffer in terms of user experience due to this issue. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot,

Juan

Yeah our app is Live and still has the issue. Its 100% not our mistake as it works perfect in reviewer and in production compact verticals is toggled. But it just automatically adds it again when the app is live. Very annoying.

It makes a modern beautiful digital magazine look like a bunch of PDF files in iBooks.

My main concern is that we have content that displays across two pages horizontally, and having the space in the middle really defeats its purpose.

Any workaround ideas? Thanks a lot

Hello, I'm having the same problem with the latest version (5.0.0)

In dual layout some horizontal pages create a gap when sliding vertically. My workaround is to extend the background image in the B-Layer to the bottom.

Is the gap-problem reoccurring in version 5 or do I have to mind some special settings to avoid this?

Thanks!

It seems as though something has changed with how compact verticals are handled. I'm experiencing this with portrait layout as well. Selecting 'crop portrait orientation' in the production fixes this. I didn't have to do this before.
