I'm having the exact same issue and I've noticed that this is the case with the "Introduction to 4.0" Mag+ app. basically anywhere there is an image you see the semi-transparent background behind it before it loads. this was not the case before I've updated the Mag+ Viewer to 4.1. I've checked on my other iPad which still has the previous Mag+ Viewer and there are no issues with transparency. Hope this helps.
Having updated to the new app and also having updated the production tools in InDesign, I have encountered a number of problems (which I shall follow up on later).
My query at this point is that when I export a previously working (and only updated) file to my iPad 4, on page swipe I get a semi-transparent checkerboard pattern behind pages until they load fully. Previously, pages would swipe white background to white white background.
Any suggestions as to how I might remove this specific problem?
I have attached an image of my settings in InDesign for you to see. (I have made the background and knockback 100% white to see if this got rid of the problem but it hasn't)

We are having the exact same problem and its irritating me so much. We were about to release our magazine on the day of 4.1 and because 4.1 brought this we already have a 1 week delay.
It looks horrible, and makes the magazine appear extra laggy. Hopefully we get an answer so our magazine doesnt go for the two week delay because of this weird background.
We see your feedback and are looking on what to do in order to meet all demands. We have not yet made decision on how this loading background should be handled. We will get back to you as soon as we made a decision on how this should work. Sorry for the wait.
Sorry, i dont want to sound rude. But is there actually anyone who asked for this background from the community? Because s far from what i have read nobody had any issues with the old white loading background and a lot of people are having an issue with the current background.
For us atleast, we hope you bring back the white background or just make a loading circle in the middle until the verticals are fully loaded.
Thanks Anders, does anyone know if this transparent background shows up on the published version or is it something that only occurs when things are reviewed?
This background will be used in the final version at the moment. We have an update that we will release soon that will show a blank background instead.
