Problems with viewing the mag+ tool in ID6 on Mac Mountain Lion

Hi there, we are considering using Mag+ as our digital magazine solution and have encountered several perplexing issues. We run Mac Mountain Lion and just redownloaded Mag+ for the second time this morning. Four hours later and we are still unable to see the populated dialogue boxes within the Mag+ tool inside ID6. It shows us your tool and the tabs but all tab pages are empty. We have an open iPad Retina indt template and have also downloaded and opened your tut files in idml and still "no joy". Very frustrated and hope this is not a harbinger of future issues.'

I'm attaching three screen captures for your illumination. This is a repetitive issue not intermittent. What simple thing am I missing?

Hope someone can help shed light on my cluelessness since I need to begin builds this week should we decide to use Mag+.

Regards,

Clueless (and sleepless - have spent 16 hours in tuts with you guys) in Seattle

BTW, I too know the value of search and saw the post where a previous user experienced the same issues in September 2012. I did not see this issue resolved - no response from that user, I couldn't get to the drop box referenced to see if that solved our issues...

Hi - Sorry for the hassle here. In the first two screenshots, I'm seeing the Articles panel, which is not a Mag+ panel. On the last screenshot, I'm seeing the Vertical panel is empty, which it should not be if you are using a Mag+ template. It is likely that something went wrong on the install with one of the plug-in files on installation. First, can you confirm that your Mag+ Plug-in folder looks like the attached (see file path in screenshots)?

Also, I've attached here a DMG file you can download and run the installer again. Please delete the Mag+ folder from your Plug-Ins folder before running the installer again.

Deleting the Mag+ plugin folder, resetting preferences, reinstalling Mag+, didn't make any difference.

We're having the same problem on 3 computers, all with fresh (never had it before) CS6 installations, 2 with Mountain Lion, 1 with Snow Leopard.

Can you confirm that the answers from Mike and Anders did or did not work?

Thank you.

Hi - Can you let us know if the plug-ins folder looks like the screenshot I attached up above? Just trying to figure out if this is an installer problem or a file problem.

It looks like this is a firewall issue with the Adobe apps (Bridge?) trying to access verisign, and it's working now...

Odd that that would be a problem; does that mean that Mag+ won't work without Internet access?

@bluezebra: The plugin definitely works without internet access. Maybe there was another problem that came with the firewall issue as well?
