Reviewer keeps crashing on Android

I am using the Magplus Reviewer on a Samsung Galaxy 10 Tab2 and after viewing several verticals, the Reviewer crashes. Every time I open the Reviewer, it crashes automatically and won't even open. I  have to keep clearing the cache and data, and have to re-enter my login details.

Why does this keep happening? Is there going to be an update to fix this soon?

Thank you

Hi Hannah,

We are always looking to enhance the app and hopefully your problem will be resolved with the upcoming update.

Hi Anders,

With the greatest will in the world, that's not much of an answer you have given Hannah. I'm having the same problem on a Nexus 7. I have just spent several hours downloading your tools, watching tutorial videos and playing with the InDesign plugin to get used to your system. After all that, Fast Review worked the first time I tried it, but has subsequently crashed the Reviewer App 20 out of 20 attempts later. I don't know about anyone else, but I'd like to see this working 100% of the time, or at least see some suggested corrective steps, before I invested a lot of time and money in this environment.

Any suggestions you have would be gratefully received.

Regards

Hi Andy,

Sorry for your trouble. The problem is that we are not able to duplicate the problem.

The problem might be that the app gets stuck loading a MIB with an error when starting. So therefore when this happens we recommend to clear the cache of the app and restart it. Also make sure that the vertical you are pushing doesn't contain any errors such as huge html files or videos. Another problme might be that the wi-fi is not stable and the mib file is only delivered partly and therefore the Reviewer crashes.

Hi Anders

I dont know if its the fact that Android tablets cannot handle processing a lot of data compared to the iPad but i keep getting this problems and it seems to happen at inconsistent times. Everytime this happens, I have had to clear the data and cache and have had to enter my log in details. This of course, takes up a lot of time and gets very irritating.

The mibs I try to view have no obvious errors, (I can view them sometimes, and then not view them at other times). They will sometimes contain htmls or videos but I have made sure they the minimum size possible. The wifi we use is reliable as much as I can tell.

I have sent several reports back every time the reviewer crashes in the hope that you will get the error report and find out why it has crashed.

Is anyone else having problems on Android?

Thanks, Hannah

So far, the the only designs I've tried to review are the example templates that amenities bundled with your download, so there shouldn't be any errors. Clearing cache hasn't worked, the only way I've been able to get Fast Review to work is to delete the reviewer apply and the reinstall it...

@Hannah: If you are using an Android galaxy tab 2, try using the Kindle fire template and see if that works better. It is better for low res tablets. Does that make any difference?

Hi Anders,

I was wondering if there was any update on this issue? I push review a mib that was created using the Android 1280 x 800 template and most pages work — if they only have minimal interactivity in the page, i.e. only pop ups, a layer etc.

The Reviewer crashes as soon as it goes to a page that has audio embedded or html.

I've even tried reviewing a single vertical which includes an embedded video and embedded audio. It starts downloading in the Reviewer but then when it tries to load, it crashes automatically. Is this something to do with the Reviewer or the Android?

Many thanks

hannah
