Popup explanation

Hi,

I was wondering if you could explain to me how I can make a popup change a complete image as seen in https://vimeo.com/36814562 (at 6:25).

-I want to create a popup that changes the icon (from + to -) so that I can click on the - to get rid of the popup.

A tutorial/explantion would be great!

Thank you in advance!

Hi Hannah,

The - sign is actually part of the popup image. The clickable area to activate/deactivate the popup is placed over the  + and - sign.

See images below:

Perfect! thank you so much!

Just to clarify- they have to be images not just grouped objects

Hi Hannah,

They actually don't have to be images, they can be grouped objects.

Best regards,

How do you get your popup to not have a white background behind it? Does the popup have to fill the screen like in the example above? What if my popup is a colored circle or clipped PSD image?

Hi Derek,

Images placed on the "Bp - Popup - main content" will be exported as jpeg and will therefore have a white background. If you want your popup image to be transparent, place it on the "Bp - Popup - pinned blocks" or "Ap - Popup - Main Tower" and they will be exported as pngs and therefore have transparent backgrounds. If you are still having problems, try grouping the popup with another object, preferably a transparent box and it should export with a transparent background.

Regards,

Anders

Hi Anders,

If i want to different images popup on the same page by tapping on thumbnails on the base layer. Can I make copies of the BP_popup and link to each layer from the main layer?

The missing link thats not explained is that the entire piece including the + and - need to be overlayed. The top layer need to be a solid JPG to cover the plus with a minus .... at least thats what we did. Note that due to a bug the foreground elements needs to be slightly larger towards the top of page than the underlying example. I assume a future release will fix that bug.

Hi Anders.

Sorry. Let me try again. We're trying to make a four button pop-up similar to the car pop-up that begins the Mag+ popup tutorial video.

I've in an on-going discussion here: http://support.magplus.com/entries/21632503-how-was-the-car-captioning-done?page=1#post_21575348

with David Wrigh and he has made some great suggestions.

I've built a successful one-button pop, but I'm having problems getting four buttons to work…one at a time.  Any suggestions you have would be welcomed. Attached is a screen grab of my setup.
