Image downscaling query

Hello,

I am writing regarding an error message I am repeatedly receiving when exporting my layouts to the Mag Prod Tool. Each time I do so, I get a message saying "Downscaling a image in Photoshop failed!". I have looked at the topic titled " Plug-in error 'downscaling a image in Photoshop failed'", but I'm afraid it doesn't help. I checked everything in Settings, and they are the same as they were in the topic, yet the prtoblem still occurs.

I have checked that the version of Photoshop listed in the Settings is the same as the version I am using and it is. I have tried quitting Photoshop and then exporting so that PS is opened automatically by the export, and it fails. I have tried deleting the fiolder that was created with the assets in "verticals" for the feature I was trying to export, and then trying again, and it still fails.

I have managed to get it to work by unricking the box saying "Downscale images using Photoshop", but of course this results in a noticeable loss of image quality. Do you have any idea what it ia that I could be doing wrong?

Hi Edward,

Just want to check . Are you sure that the correct Photoshop version is selected. It's probably not the case though because Photoshop is starting automatically. Do you have another version of Photoshop installed that you could point to instead?

Thanks Anders - everything seems to be working again, although I didn't actually change any of the settings! Perhaps it was a temporary glitch or something.

Anyway, I received a general email from Magplus recently about submitting a new build to the App Store that resolves some glitches in the latest version. This is fine, but I wante dto quickly check something that was bothering me before resubmitting: I have found that, when people search "Germanwings" in the app store, it doesn;t return our Germanwings app. The official name of the app is "GW Magazin", because the airline has its own branded app already. However, I put Germanwings as one of the search terms, so I thought that it wouldmean people could find it by typing that term in. But it doesn't appear. Is there anything that I might have done wrong?

Hi Anders,

About Photoshop, we recently upgraded to CS6 and I downloaded the plug-in for it.  However, CS6 isn't showing up on the dropdown menu.  Is there anything I've missed doing?

Thanks,

Monette

Hi Monette,

We are sorry for trouble, unfortunately there is a problem with the current version of the plugin for CS6, it is not possible yet to select photoshop. Next week we will release an update fixing this problem and the problem concerning the jpeg compiler: http://support.magplus.com/entries/21492576
