Layout does not scale when exporting from iPad Retina version to iPad Pro

I'm trying to export my iPad Retina issue for use on the iPad Pro, but whenever I preview the verticals in the Simulator the layout has not scaled correctly and there are elements missing. Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks!

Hello there,

We're sorry you're having some trouble, can you send a screenshot of your InDesign preferences within the 'General' section (i.e. InDesign CC > Preferences > General)?

Thanks for sending your screenshot.

In the InDesign preferences under 'General', within the 'When Scaling:' section, try unchecking 'Apply to Content' (which will gray out the sub-options underneath it) and check ''Adjust Scaling Percentage' instead, then hit 'OK'.

From there, try once again and see if you still experience the same result afterward (more on this here: https://support.magplus.com/hc/en-us/articles/203810248).

Hope this helps.

So I tried "Adjust Scaling Percentage" but it still doesn't seem to be scaling correctly. When I preview the vertical in the simulator I get this(See Screenshot).

Thanks!

I'm sorry to hear that didn't work.

In addition, can you send us a screenshot of your 'Designd Vertical' panel while you're running Multiple Device Export (i.e. Additional Devices) so we can see what settings you have selected?

Thanks for the follow-up and sending that screenshot.

To rule it out, try selecting 'Page Scale' under the 'Export Rule' section drop-down options (for any devices you're exporting to), then run the script again and see if that helps afterward.

Let us know.

Unfortunately it's still displaying incorrectly.

Sorry, you're still having trouble.

To rule more out, try the following steps:

  1. Quit out of InDesign.
  2. Update both your versions of Adobe Air (from here: https://get.adobe.com/air/) and Adobe Flash (from here: https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/).
  3. Redownload a fresh set of tools from our website here (https://www.magplus.com/my-magplus/) after logging in and let us know if that works afterward.

So I'm still having the same issue. Whenever I upload the vertical to the iPad Pro Simulator it just shows up as the small version at the top. I checked the corresponding InDesign file and it's the same in there. It just doesn't seem to be scaling the layout.

Hi there,

We're sorry you're still having trouble with this.

Can you please send us the packaged InDesign file (with all associated links) so we can take a look at how it's built on our end and try to replicate the behavior?

If possible, please send a direct download link from Dropbox, as that will suffice.
