iOS - Adding Third-Party Integrations

When building your app for iOS, Mag+ allows you to choose which third-party integrations are included. These integrations include analytics modules such as Omniture, Flurry, and Localytics as well as marketing services such as Appboy and Oplytic.

Follow the steps below to include these third-party options in your built iOS app.

Before you begin

Before enabling third-party integrations, it is necessary to perform some configuration for each service in order to make it build properly. You must configure the third-party software outside of Mag+ and receive identifier keys to enter into the Mag+ Publish portal. You then activate the integration and build your app. See the items below to determine where you must enter the proper identifier keys.

Oplytic

The Oplytic App ID must be entered in Apps > Live Settings > Oplytic App ID.

Note: For more information on eMagazines/Oplytic, please read the article "Analytics - Using Oplytic."
Oplytic

Flurry

Flurry must be enabled by going to Apps > iOS > Analytics Configuration and choosing the Analytics Type from the dropdown and entering the Analytics Key.

Note: For more information on Flurry, please read the article "Analytics - Using Flurry Analytics."

Google Analytics

Google Analytics must be enabled by going to Apps > iOS > Analytics Configuration and choosing the Analytics Type from the dropdown and entering the Analytics Key.

Localytics

Localytics must be enabled by going to Apps > iOS > Analytics Configuration and choosing the Analytics Type from the dropdown and entering the Analytics Key.

Note: For more information on Localytics, please read the article "Analytics - Using Localytics."

Omniture

Omniture has two options available for configuration:

  • General Omniture Configuration: Omniture is enabled by going to Apps > iOS > Analytics Configuration and choosing the Analytics Type from the dropdown and entering the Analytics Key (Label 1).
  • Private Omniture Tracking Server: Enter the DNS address for your Omniture Tracking Server in Apps > Live Settings > Omniture Tracking Server (Label 2).

Notifying Apple of Advertising Identifier (IDFA)

Some third-party integrations make use of an Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) which must be reported to Apple when submitting an iOS app for distribution. Apple asks that you report how the IDFA is used within the app when submitting the binary in iTunes Connect. The following list shows which third-party integrations use IDFA and what checkboxes must be checked to inform Apple of their use.

Third-party integrations that use IDFA

  • AdMarvel:
    • Check "Serve advertisements within the app."
  • Oplytic:
    • Check "Attribute this app installation to a previously served advertisement."
    • Check "Attribute an action taken within this app to a previously served advertisement."
  • Google AdMob:
    • Check "Serve advertisements within the app."
