Important Information
- Before building an app, please make sure you have set-up your distribution channels (Google Play and/or the Amazon App Store). You will need information from these marketplaces in order to build your app. For more information, read the section "Setting Up Distribution Channels."
- Make sure you have customized your app with icons, custom colors, and more. For more information on customizing your app, refer to the article "Android - How to Customize Your App's Look and Feel."
How to Configure Your App for Paid Content
1. Make sure Google Play/Amazon Subscriptions and mag+ Publish portal Subscriptions are configured.
Important Notes
- Create In-app Subscription Products in Google Play before creating Subscriptions in the mag+ Publish portal. The Publish portal requires IDs from Google Play in order to make a connection. For more information on creating in-app products in Google Play, read the article "Android - Creating an In-App Product for Subscriptions."
- Create In-app Items in the Amazon Appstore before creating Subscriptions in the mag+ Publish portal. The Publish portal requires IDs from Amazon in order to make a connection. For more information on creating in-app products in Amazon, read the article "Kindle Fire - Creating an In-App Item for Subscriptions."
- For more information on creating Subscriptions in the mag+ Publish portal, read the article "General - Adding and Managing In-App Subscriptions."
2. Upload your mag+ Issues to the mag+ Publish portal with the settings listed below.
Important Issue Settings
- Make sure the "Entitlement Category" is set to "Paid Issue"
- For Google Play: Enter the Google Play product ID for your In-App Subscription Product. For more information on creating in-app products in Google Play, read the article "Android - Creating an In-app Product for Subscriptions."
- For Kindle Fire: Enter the Amazon Market product SKU for your In-app Item. For more information on creating in-app items in the Amazon Appstore, read the article "Kindle Fire - Creating an In-app Item for Subscriptions."
- For more information on creating and uploading mag+ Issues, refer to the article "Managing Issues."
3. Make sure the following options are configured under Android > Build Settings.
Important Build Settings
- Make sure Options > In-app Billing Option is set to "Enable in-app billing."
4. You are now ready to build your Android app.
